About Top-Up & Tagihan (Bill Payment)

As the name says, the service will provide the user with the convenience of making a payment on their Bills. In Indonesia, there are hundreds of billers available in the market From Electricity Bill, Water Bill, Telco bills, Health Insurance, and Loan, to Streaming services.

Goals

Bill Payment will provide one of the use cases that will help unlock new revenue stream, boost traffic to our platform + reason to use our Payment system (LINE Bank or E-money partnership).

Highlights

  • Discovery
    Conducted Product Opportunity Assessment from market research to user interview for the Bill Payment team to help the team prioritize the first version of the product. I found 2 Critical Factors of the bill payment product that make it successful (payment method & pricing model) that we later used as insights into our product scope prioritization in phase 1.

  • User Research
    Conducted 2x usability studies with more than 40 people participating to make sure all the pay bills steps are easy to understand. Increased the initial paying bills completion rate from 78% to 91.5% before we shipped it to the public.

  • Analytics
    Designed the data convention with strategy team and implemented the product analytics inside the app to help the product & strategy team collect, get insights, & understand key metrics about the product.

  • Cross-functional team collaboration
    Communicate with external stakeholders (3rd party partners — M-cash) to translate product requirement & help with the feasibility of the product when using LINE API. Designed the workflow to help us keep on track, communicate with the internal Product team, & successfully launch the product.

  • Product Delivery
    Finally, we shipped the product that contributed to the new revenue stream for LINE Indonesia. This product is one of the highlights for LINE Indonesia in 2021. See
